How to Use Double Sided Tape

Every day there are logs of application for double sided tape. It’s widely used around us. However not many of us that can use it very successfully. It may look very simple to use. But it require your patience & correct steps.

Step 1: Clean & Dry the Surface

This step is very important. Because it can affects the strength of the bond directly. A clean & dry surface will ensure a good performance. A cleaning fluid or alcohol can be used at this moment. Remove any dirt, dust, or debris to ensure that the tape sticks properly. Then we need to wait until it is completely dry.

Step 2: Confirm Desirm Desired Length & Cut The Tape in Advance

If you could cut the tape in a suitable size at the very beginning, that will help your work goes smoothly, and you don’t need to cut it at twice. Also it won’t lead to waste of tape. Some double sided tapes come in rolls and can be easily cut to size with scissors.

Step 3: Confirm the Position & Peel Off The Backing Paper

First, we need to confirm the position and then Place the Tape Onto the Back of the Object. Because as long as you stick the tape on the object, it’s hard to move and change the position again. If you got a wrong place for the tape, it will affect the bonding strength. So be careful & confirm the position first. Then Peel off the backing paper from one side of the tape. Make sure to only remove the backing paper from one side of the tape, as the other side will be used to stick to the other surface.

Step 4: Apply the Type to One Surface & Press Down

Apply the exposed adhesive side of the tape to one of the surfaces you want to bond. Press down firmly to ensure that the tape sticks properly. Be noted that you have to keep pressing for few seconds, that can help to make a great coincide.

Step 5: Peel Off the Remaining Backing Paper

Pell off the backing paper from the other side of the tape.

Step 6: Apply The Other Surface to The Tape

Apply the other surface to the exposed adhesive side of the tape. Press down firmly to ensure that the two surfaces are bonded together securely. Be noted: Please keep pressing for a few seconds.

Step 7: Repeat The Process As Needed

Repeat the process as needed to apply more tape, or to bond additional surfaces together.
